Each year I receive a greater understanding of what Easter is really about. This year it hit me really hard and my love and testimony of our Savior was strengthened. To leave it short and sweet: I know that Jesus atoned and died for me. He did for each and every person who has, is now, or is yet to live. It was the greatest sacrifice, the greatest gift, and because of it, we can repent and be perfected through Him. I know that He was resurrected and because of that, we can have eternal life. I am so grateful for the life He lived, His example to me, and His love.
For Chloe's baby shower, we received a beautiful Spring dress from Jenn that I have been so anxious to put her in. Now that it is Spring, and she finally fits into it, she was able to wear it and we got a few good pictures.
She loved being in the rocks!
One of her favorite things to do is hide. She thinks that if she can't see you, then you must not be able to see her. It is pretty cute and one of my favorite games with her.
It has been amazing watching Chloe grow and get to new milestones. It has happened so fast though, I wish time would slow down just a little. I absolutely love watching her try so hard to do things though. When she wanted to crawl she would fall over and over but never stopped getting on her knees to try again. Now she falls or loses her balance while trying to walk but she tries harder. She is getting better day to day! I wish I had the same determination that she does. It makes me so happy when she is successful and to see how proud she gets. Can't wait to see how long (or not so long) it takes before she is walking and running all over the place.
I've been watching a little boy, Asher, for several months now. He is 6 months old and today he was trying so hard to get Chloe's attention. Chloe ignored him for a while. He was pulling on her pj's and making lots of cute noises but she wouldn't look at him. I thought it was pretty hilarious so I grabbed my phone to take a few pictures. My timing was perfect though, because right as I went to take a picture Chloe decided to give Asher a hug and a kiss.
They are so much fun and I love watching them interact together. They are so sweet together.
Chloe is changing so fast. Everyday she is either doing something a little better than the day before or doing something new. On the 28th of February she took her first steps. She is getting braver now and is trying on her own (without me motivating her). She will be walking and running like a pro before we know it. I was just so glad Scott got to be home to see it.
Scott got hit in the mouth at work by a 2x4. It was leaning against a gate and when he went into the backyard it fell right into his front teeth. It bothered him for a few days and when he went to the dentist, discovered he needed a root canal. OUCH! He did great, but was on percocet all week for the pain and couldn't work (since his job is all driving). Anyways, it was nice to have him home and spend some more time with him. He loved being with Chloe and was so happy to see her take her first steps.
They have so much fun together. The other night I came out after showering only to find Scott and Chloe discovered that yogurt melts stick to her face pretty well.
She also had fun trying on dada's shoes. They might have been a little big, but she will grow into them right?
She is at such a fun age. It is crazy to think that she will be one in a few weeks. Since she was little we always knew Chloe had a bit of a temper. She had a way of letting you know what she wanted, and making sure you knew how upset she was if she didn't get it. Well, that quality has only gotten stronger as she gets older. She loves to eat. Scott and I can't eat without her screaming at us to share with her. Even with this temper of hers though, I love her to pieces. And lets face it, there isn't a cuter girl alive (not in my book anyway).
This month was my father in law, Roy's birthday. Allison had the great idea, while all of her grandkids were in town to get pictures done of all of them as a gift. It was so sweet and fun to watch them take pictures and interact with each other. They all had a blast and the pictures turned out great.
They can't wait for grandchild number 9 to get here in July, and we can't wait for another niece or nephew!
About two weeks ago Chloe woke up from a nap with a fever of 102. We took her to the doctor the next day who thought she either had RSV or the flu. We kept an eye on her and tried giving her tamaflu, which just made her nauseous and throw up. That night we kept an eye on her temperature. She was so miserable. We checked her temperature around 12:30am and it had reached 104. We went to the ER and discovered it was indeed RSV.
This worried me since all I heard about RSV was that it hospitalized babies, turned into bronchiolitis and pneumonia, and in rare cases babies died from it. Turns out we caught it pretty quick, and since she is a typically healthy baby it didn't get that bad. Her oxygen was good enough that they let us leave. It took a few days before she felt better, but I was just so glad it didn't end up being as serious as it could have been. Once she was doing better, a rash broke out over her entire body and she was scratching like crazy. We went back into the doctor who said it looked like hives and it was most likely an allergy. We hadn't been giving her any medicine at that point though and hadn't given her any new food. No changes in our lotions or anything either. It went away and I'm guessing we will never know exactly what that was. Oh well, as long as she is happy and healthy now.
On Saturday we went to visit my parents. My dad left for Scotland Sunday morning for work and will be gone for a while. He will most likely be traveling back and forth between Colorado and Scotland throughout the year. We wanted to spend time with him before he had to leave. It was beautiful outside (especially for February), so we made sure to spend time soaking up the sun.
Grandpa likes to spoil Chloe just a little, and gave her a few cookies, which she loved.
Recently, Scott and I have been teaching Chloe how to share. We ask her to share, and without hesitation she hands over what ever we have (Lets see how long that one lasts haha). Of course, we share with her too. Well, she decided to share her cookies with my parents dog, Riley.
Also, look who is standing up on her own now. She is doing so well. She will stand up for a good 30 seconds on her own. She might be walking before too long. Uh-oh, not sure I am ready for that!
We had a good time and will miss Grandpa a lot! I'm sure we will see him in a little while though! We love you Grandpa, be safe in Scotland!
