Happy Birthday Chloe!

(WARNING: This post will have way more pictures than necessary)

Chloe's Birthday was on Tuesday the 23rd. Because Aarons birthday is four days after hers, we ended up having a birthday party for both of them the Saturday before their birthdays. It was a lot of fun but I don't think either of them knew what was going on. Chloe enjoyed everyone singing happy birthday, but neither of them knew exactly what to do with the presents, so they got a little help.

They had way more fun opening the gifts then Chloe and Aaron did.

It was full of good food and good people. Such a fun night!

On Tuesday, for Chloe's birthday we put her in a birthday hat and tutu and took some fun pictures in her crib.

She got a little tired and annoyed with me taking her picture!

"It's my party and I'll cry if I want to!"

That night we went over to Grammy and Poppa's to have cake, ice cream, and open presents. Scott and I decided to start a tradition for first birthdays, and gave Chloe her very own cake to dig into and make a mess. Surprisingly, Chloe has great table manners. It took her a while before she figured out what to do. We tried scooping frosting with our fingers and giving it to her, which she loved, but she wouldn't do it herself. I finally took her hand and smashed it into the cake. She would hold her hand to the side and still wouldn't touch the cake. She was so confused. Once we gave her a spoon and cleaned off her hand she started eating it though. She enjoyed it, just not as much as we thought. It was pretty darn cute.

The cake we made didn't turn out to great. The frosting was a bit to warm and melted off the cake a little. Oh well, it tasted good.

She even shared her cake with Grandma!

"How old is Chloe??? ... ONE!"

Chloe and Grammy waving to each other.

Lucky loved her balloon.

Sean wrote a poem for his "cosin" Chloe! So sweet... and she sure is hard working! haha! He wrote it "to his sweetheart". It is so cute how much they all love each other.

Joey also went through all of his toys and picked out this truck to give to Chloe as a birthday present. Isn't that just the sweetest?

Cousins!

After cake she ran around and really loved playing the piano.

I can't believe it has already been a year. It has flown by. This little girl has changed and blessed our lives so much. We are so grateful for her. She is just the sweetest and most fun little girl! Happy 1st Birthday Chloe!

Tyler's birthday was the day before Chloe's and Scott sent this to him! I thought it was to funny and cute not to share!

Smartie Pants

For about the past week, Chloe has brought me books whenever she wants me to read to her. If I am sitting on the ground she will crawl into my lap after handing it to me, or if I am on the couch or standing up, she will come and bump the book on my leg until I grab it. Then she will yell at me to pick her up to read it. She absolutely loves books, it makes me so happy. I just hope it sticks.
She has also been bringing me her bib that I keep in her diaper bag if she gets hungry before I planned to feed her, and will bring her changing pad (also in her diaper bag) if she needs to be changed and I haven't caught it yet.
I might take that as a sign to potty train except for the fact that she would fall into the toilet, and she thinks the water in it is to play in. She is still just a little to young for that.

What in the world? She isn't even one yet. Is she supposed to be doing this?
I'm not complaining though, I think it is great. She is learning and doing so good. I love seeing new things start to "click" and her understanding.

2 Years Down

... Eternity to go!

On Tuesday Scott and I celebrated our two year anniversary. I am so grateful for the choice we made two years ago to get married in the Denver LDS Temple. It has been such a blessing in our lives so far and I know it will only bring more blessings as we grow together in this life. Scott has taught me so much, but mostly he has given me someone to smile, cry, and laugh with. He is my best friend. Two years ago I wouldn't believe that I could love him more than I did, but each day I learn to love him more than the day before. He is a wonderful husband and an amazing father. I couldn't have asked for anything more. He has seen me at my very worst and absolute best and he never stops loving me. How lucky am I?!

The last two years have flown, but at the same time, it feels like we have always had each other. It is hard to remember my life before Scott.

For our anniversary Scott took me to the Chart House for dinner. We got dressed up, Grammy and Papa watched Chloe, and we had the most wonderful meal.

(I wrote a secret message on a banana I put in Scotts lunch, but he didn't get to eat lunch that day, so he didn't see it until he got home.)

I had lobster :) and Scott had a really good steak.

And how could we resist dessert? A Chocolate lava cake with ice cream and heath bar. YUMMMMMMM!

Can't wait to see what this next year has in store for us, BRING IT ON!
