Denver Zoo

My mom, Kelsey, Chloe and I took a trip to the zoo last week. It was Chloe's first time at a zoo and she is finally old enough to really notice and enjoy the animals. She would point and wave to all of them. She even blew kisses to the bears. And would burst out saying "WOW!" every now and then. She did great. It was a long day but she never threw a fit. I will say that she was exhausted by the end of the day and when we finally decided to go, she was asleep before we got out of the park.

Blowing kisses!

Chasing the peacocks was a favorite!

They had a fun exhibit where you could get little cups of nectar and feed the birds. Chloe watched the birds eat and wanted some for herself. She didn't get any but she understood what they were doing. We gave her some crackers one we got out of the exhibit.

This monkey saw Chloe from across the exhibit and came climbing across the glass and stopped to stare at her. They looked at each other for a while. It was pretty cute.

The orangutan also stared at Chloe. Chloe really liked him. She even tried to share her snack with him.

She especially like the fish. She would say WOW over and over.

It was a hot day! When we left the park we were all sweaty and tired.

But we had a blast. It was just too bad Scotty couldn't come with us. Next time for sure!

Eagle, Colorado

Last week Chloe and I took a short day trip to the mountains to visit my sister Courtney who lives in Eagle. We went with my mom and other sister, Kelsey. It was a girls day out and we all had lots of fun. Chloe found a bike that she loved. She was full of smiles and so proud of herself while on it.  When it was time to go though she wasn't too happy to have to get off.

She also had a chance to meet her first horse. Courtney has had Dancer for about 10 or 11 years now. He is a sweetheart. We were all anxious to see what Chloe thought of him. She seemed to really enjoy the horses until the moved. I think because they are so much bigger than her it made her a little nervous.

Even if Chloe was a little unsure about these big new animals, they seemed to like her. Dancer bent down and smothered her with kisses and snuggles. He even let her sit on him a little.

After lunch at the Dusty Boot we did a little shopping in Downtown Eagle (which is so small that if you blink you might miss it). Then we headed to a park to let Chloe stretch out her legs and play.

Grandma and Aunt Kelsey entertained her on the swing, which she is finally starting to enjoy. All in all it was a good but fast trip.
